The ICAR- Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR), country’s leading institute situated at Hessarghatta (Bangalore), will organize a national horticulture fair from 23rd to 25th January to exhibit its popular crop varieties, cropping practices and advanced technologies.IIHR is holding the fair in collaboration with Society for Promotion of Horticulture, Bengaluru; Department of Horticulture, Government of Karnataka, National Horticulture Board, Gurugram & CDB (DAC).
The aim of the horticulture fair is to turn farmers into entrepreneurs, which is being held with the theme ‘Horticulture for Rural Prosperity’.
The salient features of the fair include live demonstration of improved varieties and technologies. Exhibition stalls from ICAR institutes, Agricultural Universities, Developmental Departments, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), private industries, etc. Farmers-Scientists discussions on emerging challenges and solutions; sale of seeds, planting material, products from ICAR-IIHR and private entrepreneurs and felicitation of innovative farmers in recognition of their contribution.
