The Department of Agriculture Cooperation & Farmers Welfare on January 22 notified a list of 42 manufacturers of City Compost from across the country for the sale of such compost in bulk directly to farmers for a period of three years.
This has been notified in pursuance of sub-clause (c ) of clause 22 of the Fertilizer (Inorganic, organic or mixed) (Control) Order, 1985.
However, there is a rider to such bulk sale of city compost to the farmers.
Each manufacturer is required to issue a certificate to farmers, at the time of sale of the compost, indicating the minimum guaranteed value of such compost.
