Delhi's 31st Mango Festival Displays More Than 500 Varieties of Mangoes

The much awaited Delhi Tourism’s three day Mango Festival concluded with an eventful note on Sunday (7th July 2019). More than thousand mango lovers reached Dilli Haat, Janakpuri to taste this delightful fruit last weekend. More than 500 varieties of mangoes collected from different parts of India were showcased in the three-day festival. It’s always been a refreshing delight for the Delhiites who love to explore their taste of mangoes and a great way to make Delhi’s sweltering summers enjoyable.

The much awaited Delhi Tourism’s three day Mango Festival concluded with an eventful note on Sunday (7th July 2019). More than thousand mango lovers reached Dilli Haat, Janakpuri to taste this delightful fruit last weekend.

More than 500 varieties of mangoes collected from different parts of India were showcased in the three-day festival.

It’s always been a refreshing delight for the Delhiites who love to explore their taste of mangoes and a great way to make Delhi’s sweltering summers enjoyable.

The enthusiasm and crowd of visitors again proved that this festival is one of the much awaited and major cultural events in the national Capital and a raise of hope and appreciation to all the mango growers and farmers of the country.

Farmers from different states of India came together to showcase their traditional, hybrid and unique varieties of mangoes in Delhi. Different varieties of the fruit including LangraChausa, Amrapali, RataulHussainaraRamkela, Kesar, Fazri, Mallika were displayed in the festival.  

The organizer also entertained the visitors through the soulful music by bands like Urooj, Ayaz, Sur Theka, Sufi Amigos, EkagraAnakryvit, Rock and Raaga, Indo Fuzon and Artists like Kamal Gill. Magic show and folk-dance performances were also organized. 

Sudhir Sobti, Chief Manager of Delhi Tourism said, “Three decades ago, we incepted our signature event, the mango festival, keeping in mind the role mangoes play in every Indian household and how Mango growers have consistently added to our lives with their innovative and delicious varieties. This festival celebrates our bond with mangoes that has come about because of mango growers,"
