India is an agriculture-based country where millions of farmers depend on agriculture. Decades ago, when the Green Revolution took place, India achieved self-sufficiency in food production. At that time, the use of high-yielding seeds (HYV), mechanized farming, chemical fertilizers, and pesticides increased significantly. Though the production improved, the long-term effects of these practices deeply impacted the soil and the environment.

During the Green Revolution, the importance of livestock in farming was reduced, as animals like bullocks and other non-milking livestock were no longer needed for ploughing or transport. As a result, most farmers began to keep only milking animals, reducing the overall availability of dung for manure. This led to an increased dependence on chemical fertilizers, which eventually weakened soil fertility, organic structure, and vitality.

The essential organic components in soil, such as fungi and microorganisms, were destroyed, continuously decreasing the soil's natural productivity. This directly increased the dependency on chemical inputs and affected the quality of agricultural produce.

Necessity and Challenges in Organic Farming

Today, the demand for organic and natural farming is rising worldwide. Chemical farming has negatively affected both the quality of produce and soil health. In this context, organic farming is the future of safe and sustainable agriculture. The key to organic farming is increasing organic matter in the soil. The most affordable and effective way to do this is through organic manure made from cow dung, known as Farm Yard Manure (FYM).

Currently, most farmers follow the traditional method of piling up dung and leftover fodder for 8 to 12 months to prepare manure. However, this manure is often only partially decomposed and of low quality. Farmers need to apply 6 to 8 tonnes of such manure per acre, increasing costs and making it difficult to use across all fields. As a result, the soil still lacks the required organic elements.

Zytonic Godhan: A Simple and Effective Technology

To address these problems, Zydex has introduced Zytonic Godhan, a product based on Zytonic technology. This is a modern and simple solution that converts cow dung and organic waste into rich organic manure in just 45 to 60 days.

The process uses bio-fungal digestion technology, which breaks down lignin and cellulose in the dung into humus and humic acid, resulting in black, crumbly, and highly nutritious compost for the soil. This manure is comparable in quality to vermicompost.

Key Features and Benefits of Zytonic Godhan Manure

  • The decomposition is fast. While traditional methods take 8 to 12 months, Zytonic Godhan prepares manure in just 45–60 days.

  • The quality is high. The manure is fully decomposed and quickly dissolves in soil, supplying nutrients to plants almost immediately.

  • It is more effective in smaller amounts. Compared to traditional manure, it can be applied over 6 to 8 times more area with the same quantity.

  • Water is saved. Under the “Sanjeevani Project” method, irrigation water use can be reduced by 40–50%.

  • Dependency on chemical inputs reduces. With regular use, farmers can significantly cut down or stop the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides.

  • It is suitable for all crops, whether grains, vegetables, or nutrition-rich crops.

Zytonic Godhan-treated organic manure continues to provide essential food to beneficial soil microorganisms (bacteria, fungi, and other biological species) for 3 to 6 months during the crop cycle, which is crucial for the success of organic farming.

Precautions While Using Zytonic Godhan

Do’s:

  • Use dung that is 2 to 4 months old.

  • Use the correct quantity of Zytonic Godhan. Add 2 kg of Zytonic Godhan per 1 metric ton of dung.

  • Keep the dung pile height at 1 meter (about 3 feet) to allow proper air flow.

  • Moisten the entire pile well with Zytonic Godhan solution to ensure proper digestion.

  • Cover the pile, but use materials that allow air passage, like crop residue or jute sacks.

Don’ts:

  • Do not use fresh dung.

  • Do not mix soil or sand in the dung when preparing manure with Zytonic Godhan.

  • Do not make the dung pile taller than 3 feet, as it blocks airflow and hampers decomposition.

  • Do not add too much water.

Making Non-Milking Livestock Useful Again

Zytonic Godhan not only increases soil fertility but also changes the economic dynamics of animal husbandry for farmers. Today, many farmers consider non-milking livestock, like old cows and bullocks, as non-useful. But if their dung is used to make high-quality manure, these animals can once again become profitable.

Here’s a simple calculation:

Expense/Income Item

Amount (Rs.)

Fodder and care cost

25,000

Zytonic Godhan technology cost

3,600

Manure yield (6 tons @ Rs. 5,000–6,000 per ton)

Rs. 30,000–Rs. 36,000

Net profit

Rs. 1,400 – Rs. 7,400 per animal per year

This shows that even non-milking Livestock can become a source of yearly income for farmers. It reduces neglect of these animals and supports sustainable farming.

At a time when farming costs are continuously rising and soil quality is declining, technologies like Zytonic Godhan offer a ray of hope for farmers. By adopting Zytonic Godhan, farmers can improve their crop yields through organic methods while reducing costs and taking a strong step toward sustainable agriculture.
