However, if you've been giving up your sweet tooth in order to keep your blood sugar levels under control, we've got some simple Diabetes-friendly treats that you can whip up in just a few minutes at home with a few basic ingredients.
Samvat Rice Phirni
Soak and finely crush samvat rice for this wonderful dish. Meanwhile, boil the milk and decrease it to half once it becomes creamy. Simply combine the rice, saffron threads, and crushed jaggery. To keep it sugar-free, you may also add stevia.
Apple Rabri
If you like creamy Rabri, try making this easy yet nutritious Rabri at home. Low-fat milk, apples, and dried fruits are used to make this dish. Boil and reduce the milk, then add the apples, cardamom powder, and dry fruits.
Anjeer Basundi
This classic milk delicacy takes only a few minutes to prepare. Simply boil some milk with cardamom powder, decrease by half, then add the soaked figs (anjeer). Cook until the mixture thickens and serve with a sprinkling of nuts.
Khajur Barfi
To prepare a healthy barfi, just boil low-fat milk until it is reduced to half its original volume, then add fresh dates paste, peanuts, and crushed almonds. Once the mixture has thickened into a dough, spoon it onto a greased plate, cut them out, and place them in the refrigerator.
Pista Kheer
Try this thick creamy kheer with pitted dates and pistachios if you like the crisp texture of pistachios. Simply heat up some milk, add fresh dates and pistachios, and serve chilled.
Apricot Halwa
Take a pan, add some ghee, dry roast almonds, and coconut, and set aside to make this wonderful halwa. After that, add the smooth apricot paste, coconut, nuts, saffron, and cardamom powder to the halwa.
