In 1971, the Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) was founded. It offers bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D. programs in agriculture, horticulture, and forestry. CEE, a common entrance exam, is used to determine admission to undergraduate programs. Written exams and interviews will determine admission to postgraduate programs.
Every year, Kerala Agricultural University releases its cut-off and merit list for a variety of courses to be eligible for admission to UG and PG programs. Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University
The KVASU was established on June 14th, 2010, in accordance with Kerala Government Ordinance 44/2010 and later Act 3/2011. Therefore, the University is the result of many people's consistent efforts to pursue their dreams over a long period, beginning in the middle of the 1990s. The formation came about as a consequence of the realization that there was a need to promote operations in the animal production sector and to open up more chances for academic study, practical research, and entrepreneurship in the areas of animal health, production, and related topics.
The University is a publicly sponsored institution with its main campus at Pookode, Wayanad. The Management Council and the Board of Management are the university's governing bodies.
Kelappaji College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology
There is just one engineering agricultural college in Kerala, and that is the Kelappaji College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology. The institution bears Sri. K. Kelappan's name, sometimes known as "Kerala Gandhi," was a seasoned independence warrior and well-known social reformer. The college is associated with Kerala Agricultural University's Faculty of Agricultural Engineering. In 1985, B-Tech and M-Tech programs in Agricultural Engineering were launched, and in 2011, a B-Tech program in Food Engineering did the same.

College of Agriculture, Padannakad
The Kerala Agricultural University's Faculty of Agriculture established the College of Agriculture, Padannakad, as its third agricultural college in 1994. Currently, the institution solely provides a B.Sc. in Agriculture degree program (Ag). Already, five batches of students have been accepted. In May 1999, the first group of B.Scs. (Ag) students completed the program. The college is situated on the side of National Highway - NH 17 in Kasaragod District, 9 km south of Kanhangad town and 1 km north of Nileshwar town. Road and rail connections to Padannakad are excellent. Nileshwar Railway Station is the closest.
College of Forestry at Vellanikkara
With the founding of the College of Forestry at Vellanikkara in 1986, Kerala Agricultural University began offering forestry courses. At the moment, the College is housed inside the Faculty of Agriculture and is led by the Associate Dean.

B. Sc. (Forestry) Programme-The College offers a four-year degree programme in Forestry. The primary emphasis of this programme is to impart theoretical and practical knowledge in all the areas of forestry. The course is offered under the course-credit system over eight semesters, the final semester being entirely set apart for off-campus training programmes.
