For this, Yogi recommended setting up dairy committees in the rural areas of the state to help the rural population become self-sufficient. He said, “We won’t be able to fulfill the dream of gram swarajya without this.
The state government supports all positive initiatives in this direction...To boost the income of agricultural and livestock farmers, the production of milk-based products like curd, butter, and ghee needs to be pushed.”
He made the statement during his visit to Mathura where he first offered his prayers to Thakur Keshav Dev Maharaj and also performed “aarti” in Bhagwat Bhawan at Yog Maya temple. After that, he went to a veterinary university and planted saplings on the campus there.
Yogi said, “In order to protect Indian breeds of cows, an improved breed must be developed first. The Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Veterinary Science University is located here, and thanks to it, work in this field has started.”
He also asked women self-help groups to be part of the dairy committees as this will help in door-to-door collection of milk and would help in meeting the requirements.
During his visit, CM Yogi Adityanath kept emphasizing on that we need to protect cows he said “abandoned cows roaming on streets occasionally end up becoming the reason for riots." He told that nine lakh cows are being taken care of at the gaushalas run by the state government and we are making constant efforts in this direction.
Remembering lord Krishna, he stated BRAJ is the land of the incarnation of God and its everyone’s duty that this land becomes the land of gau sewa or cow service. He also made people aware of the benefits of gau sewa but also showed the path towards how cow products are in great demand these days and how it will open up the gate for new opportunities.
Talking about how cow-based products are being used for industrial purposes, he said, “Not only milk products but also CNG is being made from Indian bovine breed , while in Badaun cow dung and cow urine are being used to make paint.”
Referring to the 'Maharaas' programme organised in Jawahar Bagh by Mathura MP Hema Malini, the chief minister stated that everyone was aware of the context in which Jawahar Bagh made headlines seven years ago.
