Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana visited Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Barnala, Dr. H. K. Verma, Director Extension Education, Dr. J. P. S. Gill, Director Research, and Dr. Satyavan Rampal, DSW cum Estate Officer also accompanied him. Dr. P. S. Tanwar, Associate Director KVK, Barnala, apprised about various activities of centre to uplift the farming community. He also put light on various projects started by KVK. Vice-Chancellor, discussed in detail about the projects and put his suggestions. VC inaugurated the mini sprinkler system at KVK farm of 4.5acre area. The whole team visited newly constructed Home Science lab. They planted new plants of different varieties to deliver message for eco-friendly environment. The team also visited all the demonstration units maintained at KVK campus.
Dr. Singh discussed many issues with Assistant Professors and motivated them to serve the farming community. He said that KVK is the real platform to cater the rural masses. We should come forward to deliver all the research, technology and interventions to these end users. He appreciated the exhibition put by KVK where different technologies exhibited in the form of models and charts. He interacted with progressive farmers of different enterprises of district Barnala and inquired about the problems faced by the farmers in running their establishments. He assured that university will be on the beck and call of every farmer to support them at every step. He described the farmers that role of KVKs in country is marvellous for the success of farming community.
