GADVASU Organizes International e-symposium on Immunology

The College of Animal Biotechnology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana organized two days International e-symposium sponsored by Society of Immunology and Immunopathology (SIIP).

The College of Animal Biotechnology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana organized two days International e-symposium sponsored by Society of Immunology and Immunopathology (SIIP). The subject was “Emerging Focus on Immunology in Augmenting Animal & Human Health”.

Dr YPS Malik, Secretary, SIIP and Dean, College of Animal Biotechnology, GADVASU said that SIIP is an amalgamation of veterinary and medical immunologists to work together with a common goal of good health and wellbeing of animals and humans. The society is playing an important role in prompting multidisciplinary interactions between science and medicine to enhance research in vaccines and immunology.

Dr Malik told that Dr B N Tripathi, DDG (AS), ICAR, New Delhi inaugurated the e-symposium along with Dr Inderjeet Singh,  Vice Chancellor, GADVASU, Dr UD Gupta, Former Director, JALMA, Agra, Dr R S Chauhan, Secretary General, SIIP and Dr Kulbir Singh Sandhu, Former Dean, College of Fisheries, GADVASU.  

Dr R S Sethi, Organizing Secretary and Professor cum Head elaborated that 163 participants were registered for the symposium. The symposium witnessed national and international speakers. Dr Praveen Malik, Animal Husbandry Commissioner, GoI, New Delhi was the Chief Guest of the valedictory function along with Dr KP Singh, Vice President SIIP and Dr R S Chauhan, Secretary General SIIP. Dr Malik talked about Vaccine challenges in current scenario.

Dr R S Sethi presented the concluding remarks. Symposium concluded with recommendations to have state of the art national level research centre for immunological work to effectively control various emerging and re-emerging diseases by One Health approaches. Dr Mudit Chandra, Co-organizing Secretary presented the vote of thanks.
