National Academy of Veterinary Sciences (NAVS), India conferred prestigious awards and membership award of NAVS to the scientists of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana.
The awards were conferred during 20th Convocation-cum- Scientific Convention of NAVS on 'Restructuring Veterinary Education, Research and Extension for Enhancing Livestock and Poultry Production to Boost the GDP' at Nagpur Veterinary College of Maharashtra Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (MAFSU), Nagpur (Maharashtra).
Academy conferred a prestigious fellowship award to Dr. Parkash Singh Brar, Director of Extension Education. He was honored on the basis of excellence and significant contributions in the field of veterinary science.
Technologies developed/validated by him such as production of urea molasses multi-nutrient blocks by farm-friendly easily adoptable cold method, oestrus synchronization protocols to improve fertility in suboestrus buffaloes, improve offseason fertility in buffaloes, use of colour Doppler to predict the fate of follicle/corpus luteum and artificial insemination remain popular among farmers and veterinarians.
Dr. Mrigank Honparkhe, Principal Scientist-cum-Head, Department of Veterinary Gynecology and Obstetrics was honored with Membership Award of NAVS on the basis of excellence and significant contributions in teaching, research and extension work in the field of veterinary science. Dr. Honparkhe has been actively involved in teaching research and extension activities for the last 20 years.
Dr. Nitin Mehta, Associate Professor, Department of Livestock Products and Technology was honored with Membership Award of NAVS. He has been actively involved in teaching, research and extension activities for the last 10 years. He was bestowed with Best Teacher Award (Pre- clinical and Production subjects), College of Veterinary Science for 2017-18 and Best Researcher Award, 2018-19 by GADVASU.
Dr. Y.S. Jadoun, Assistant Professor, Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education was honored with Membership Award of NAVS. He was already decorated with “Young Scientist Awards”, Best Research Paper Award, “Innovative Extension Educationist Award”, “Excellence in Extension Award, “Young Achiever Award”, “Scientist of the Year Award”
Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the university congratulated and appreciated the efforts and meritorious work of faculty members in the field of veterinary Sciences.
