For all the people who want to increase the productivity of their dairy, livestock, and poultry business, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairy has introduced 8 schemes to help them double the farmer’s income.
Rashtriya Gokul Mission
Since December 2014, the Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM) has been in effect to promote and protect indigenous cattle breeds. The scheme is essential for boosting milk output and productivity of cows to meet the nation's rising milk demand and to increase the profitability of dairy farming for the nation's small-scale farmers. With a budget allocation of Rs. 2400 crore, the program is also continued under the umbrella of Rashtriya Pashudhan Vikas Yojna from 2021 to 2026. The RGM will lead to increased productivity and program benefits that will spread to all of India's cattle and buffaloes, especially to small and marginal farmers. Since women perform more than 70% of the effort involved in raising animals, this scheme will especially benefit women.
How to Apply for Rashtriya Gokul Mission:

Go to dahd.nic.in, the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Department's official website under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission.

Select the "Apply Online" option from the homepage's menu.

Enter all the necessary information (including name, father's name, birth date, gender, and other facts) and upload the necessary files.

National Programme for Dairy Development
The NPDD scheme aims to boost coordinated milk procurement and improve the quality of milk and milk products. The plan consists of two parts:
According to the NPDD, the Center and the State share funds as follows:
The infrastructure for quality milk test rigs and primary chilling facilities for State Cooperative Dairy Federations, District Cooperative Milk Producers' Unions, SHG-run commercial dairies, Milk Producer Companies, and Farmer Producer Organizations are the main goals of Component 'A'. The program will be implemented nationwide over a five-year period beginning in 2021–22 and ending in 2025–26.
According to the project agreement already signed with them, component "B" (Dairying Through Cooperatives) provides financial help from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). It is a project that will receive external funding and is planned to be implemented between 2021 and 2025 on a pilot basis in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, with the initial goal of building the dairy infrastructure required to provide market connections for the produce grown in rural areas and to strengthen stakeholder institutions from the village to the state level.

For strengthening/upgrading of the above training, centers will be taken up with the purpose of holding/conducting training of milk producer members of dairy PRIs/cooperatives for a period of almost 3 years or more during the implementation of the project under NPDD.
Dairy Processing and Infrastructure Development Fund
The scheme calls for lending support to what is known as Eligible End Borrowers, which include State Dairy Federations, District Milk Unions, Milk Producers Companies, Multi-State Cooperatives, and NDDB subsidiaries nationwide. The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) will provide funding in the form of an interest-bearing loan, which will then go to qualifying End Borrowers through the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC).
Eligibility Criteria:

Accounts audits need to be current. Furthermore, there must be no negative viewpoints or disclaimers in the auditor's observations.

On the date of the loan application, the end-borrower must not have defaulted on any bank or financial institution.

There cannot be more than four payment periods' worth of unpaid producer members' debts.

The Borrower shall have a Net Worth in the Positive.

The National Dairy Development Board (NBBD) must obtain the borrower's permission before assigning any actions done by the NBBD to safeguard its loan. The costs associated with reassignment must be recouped from the qualified end-borrower.

The project's financial returns must routinely meet the conditions set forth by the NBBD.

Over a year must pass before the end-borrower has any receivables from the State Government.
National Livestock Mission
The National Livestock Mission seeks to achieve its objectives of increasing per-animal productivity through breed improvement, increasing production of meat, eggs, goat milk, wool, and fodder, and creating jobs through the development of entrepreneurship in the small ruminant, poultry, and piggery sector. The program's focus is on entrepreneurial development as well as breed improvement for pigs, sheep, goats, and poultry, including the production of feed and fodder. The three Sub-Missions listed below are used to carry out the scheme:
Sub-Mission on Breed Development of Livestock & Poultry:
By offering incentives to individuals, FPOs, SHGs, Section 8 companies, and the State Government for entrepreneurship development as well as for breed improvement infrastructure, the sub-mission proposes to sharpen the focus on entrepreneurship development and breed improvement in poultry, sheep, goats, and pigs.
Sub-Mission on Feed and Fodder Development
This sub-mission aims to improve the supply of certified fodder seeds needed for fodder production and to encourage entrepreneurs to set up fodder blocks, hey bailing operations, and silage-making units through financial incentives.
Sub-Mission on Research & Development, Livestock Insurance, Extension, and Innovation
The sub-mission aims to encourage institutes, universities, organizations, and extension operations, as well as research and development in the fields of sheep, goats, pigs, feed and fodder, and livestock insurance and innovation.
