The plant is easy to cultivate from seeds or by rooting in water and it requires very little maintenance. You can keep it potted indoors or plant it in your vegetable or ornamental garden!

Tulsi Planting From Seeds

Below we have mentioned important things to do while planting Tulsi from seeds.

Fill-up a Flower Planter Halfway with High-quality Soil & Thoroughly Water It

  • At the top of the pot, leave about an inch (2.54 cm) of room.

  • Add just enough water to moisten the soil, but not too much, as you don't want the soil to become soggy.

  • Even if you intend to plant your Tulsi in an outdoor bed, it's advisable to start growing it indoors before transplanting it.

Sow Seeds 14 Inches (0.64 cm) Below Surface of the Soil

Because Tulsi seeds are so small, just sprinkle them on top of the soil and gently press them down with your fingers or a small tamper.

Maintain Moist Environment Until Seeds Germinate

  • In about 1-2 weeks, the seeds will sprout.

  • Because the seeds are so sensitive, lightly sprinkle the soil's surface with a spray bottle.

  • Pouring water into the pot should be done slowly and carefully to avoid disturbing the seeds.

  • Although covering the top of the flower container with plastic wrap may assist to keep moisture in, you'll still need to check the soil and apply extra water if necessary.

Place Tulsi Near a Warm, Sunny Window.

  • Your plant requires 6-8 hours of direct sunlight every day and temperatures of at least 70 degrees Fahrenheit (21 degrees Celsius).

  • Place the pot in a location where it will get plenty of indirect sunshine.

  • If the temperature drops overnight, be careful not to leave the plant near open windows or doors.
