Copenhagen Market

Popular in West Bengal, it is one of the most common varieties of cabbage. The roundhead fruit of this variety is a late maturing variety, is large and weighs 2.5 -3 kg. The plants are ready to harvest in 75-80 days after their transplantation.

Pride of India

Early growing variety, it is a high yielding variety of cabbage with medium-large size fruits. The weight of a single cabbage is around 1.5-2 kg. The average yield is 20-29 tonnes per hectare, with a harvesting time of 75-85 days of transplanting.

Golden Acre

One of the earliest varieties of cabbage comes with an average-size bulb. It is an early growing variety with small round heads; colour of the leaves is light green from outside and dark green from inside. Individual head weighing 1-1.5 kg, harvested within 60-65 days after transplanting. Late harvesting leads to heads cracking. Average yield is 20-24 t/ha. Its average harvesting time is 60-65 days from the day of transplantation, with each bulb weighing 1-1.5 kg.

Pusa Synthetic

This is a cabbage variety with a slightly creamy white cover and medium-size heads. With an average yield of 35-46 t/ha, it takes about 130 days from plantation to reach maturity.

Quisor

The heads of this variety is round but slightly flat, and each fruit weighs around 2.5-3 kg. The heads are ready for harvest in about 75-85 days from the date of transplantation.

Summer Queen

This variety of cabbage has green leaves with a flat and compact head. The average weight of a single head is 1-1.5 kg each. It is suitable for growing in places with hot and humid climates.

Pusa Drumhead

It is a late-season variety. The heads are large, with each one weighing around 3-5 kilograms. Outer leaves are light green with prominent mid-rib. It requires long winter for a good crop, tolerant to black leg disease. Due to the larger size, the variety takes longer to reach maturity and requires a long winter to produce a good quality crop. Average yield is 50-54 t/ha.

September Early

Mid-season variety popular in the Nilgiris, head is compact, flat-oblong with bluish green foliage, weighing 4-6 kg. The produce can be harvested within 105-110 days after transplanting. It is susceptible to black rot disease. Average yield is 40-50 t/ha. This variety can be kept in the field after they are ready for harvest and do not show cracking.

Pusa Ageti

This cabbage variety is an F1 hybrid. The heads have grey-green leaves and are medium in size. It reaches maturity in 70-80 days from the date of transplantation, with an average weight of 600 g to 1.5 kg.

Pusa Mukta

The heads of Pusa are compact, medium sized with light green outer loosely wrapped leaves at the top. The weight of each one is 1.5-2 kg. The variety is also resistant to black rot. Average yield is 25-30 t/ha.
