The Jagan government has good news for Andhra Pradesh farmers, announcing that the first tranche of investment assistance under the Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan Plan will be provided in the financial year 2022–23.
The state government has stated that all farmers who benefited from the program last year will be eligible again this year. The list of these farmers is presented in RBKs for societal examination, and those who are deceased or ineligible are eliminated.
Those who are qualified and have not previously benefited are encouraged to apply using the RBK Portal's 'New Farmer' Registration' module.
New Farmer Assurance candidates should contact the Village Agricultural Assistants (VAAs) at RBK and register their information on the site, according to officials.
ITDA PO is collecting information on farmers who cultivate forest land, and their listings will be posted on RBK. Disqualification and registration of eligible applicants will be completed by April 15 and delivered to the Commissioner of Agriculture for approval.
Eligibility will be finalized by April 30 and displayed at RBK.
Meanwhile, in May, the state government plans to transfer money into the bank accounts of millions of farmers. For the fourth year in a row, the government is offering this program to farmers. Farmers who are eligible would receive Rs. 13,500 under this scheme.
In the first phase, the government will provide Rs 7,500 crore. The state government contributed Rs. 5,500 crore, while the federal government contributed Rs. 2000 crore.
In other words, each farmer will receive Rs. 7,500 in May, followed by Rs. 4000 in the second installment, and Rs. 2,000 in the third. The State Government bears the complete cost of investment assistance to landless SC, ST, Minority, Endowments, and forest land cultivators.
In 2019–20, the government gave Rs 6,173 crore to 46.69 lakh farmer families, Rs 6,928 crore to 51.59 lakh farmer families in 2020–21, and Rs 7,016.59 crore to 52.38 lakh farmer families in 2021–22.
In the last three years, farmers have received a total of Rs. 20,117.59 crore.
The Jagan government has reportedly set aside Rs 7,020 crore for the scheme in the financial year 2022-23.
