Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy today will click a button from Allagadda in the Nandyal district to instantly credit the second tranche of assistance into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
Out of the total financial assistance of Rs. 13,500 that would be given to each farmer, the first installment of Rs. 7,500 was already made in May this year. Beneficiaries would receive Rs 4,000 per head in the second payment for the Kharif harvest and the Rabi sowing.
50.92 lakh farmers in the State will receive a total of Rs 2,096.04 crore. Before Sankranti, the last payment of Rs 2,000 per head would be given. For the benefit of more than 50 lakh farmers, the State government has been spending over Rs 7,000 crore annually on YSR Rythu Bharosa.
The State has spent Rs 25,971.33 crore on the program over the last three years, including the help that would be provided today. In fact, the aid was continued for farmers well before the scheduled time. Although Jagan pledged monetary aid of Rs 12,500 for four years in his election program, the scheme currently pays Rs 13,500 for five years.
The YSRC government has taken a number of initiatives for the welfare of farmers, including the Rythu Bharosa Kendras, e-Crop system, free crop insurance program, timely provision of input subsidies, nine hours of free power during the day, mechanization of agriculture, and minimum support prices for crops.
So far, the government has provided farmers with incentives of Rs 1,33,526.92 crore through a variety of programs. Rainfall has been abundant since the YSRC government was established, and all irrigation projects are brimming with water.
Under the YSRC government, not a single mandal in the State has been labeled as drought-hit. In contrast, during its five-year term, the previous TDP government designated 1,623 mandals in the State to be drought-hit.
