YS Jagan To Provide Quality Seeds to Farmers, Advices to Complete E-Crop Registration

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, reviewed the Agriculture Department on Friday and emphasized the need of giving farmers high-quality seeds. He also told the officials to fully use e-cropping to maximize the benefits for farmers.

During the review, the Chief Minister instructed the authorities to test the quality of the seeds regularly, which are being supplied to the farmers.  Moreover, he instructed them to closely investigate the situation and make sure there are no mistakes made when giving seeds and fertilizer to the farmers.

The officials informed him that there are sufficient reserves of fertilizers that are being provided through Rythu Bharosa Kendras (RBK). He requested that agriculture assistants in RBKs provide daily information to the officials on the availability of seeds, fertilizer, and agri product prices.

He urged the authorities to complete 100% error-free e-cropping by the first week of September. After e-cropping, he instructed them to provide both printed and digital receipts and to constantly monitor the process every day. Furthermore, he asked them to correct any defects found on the web land. In light of the fact that the YSR Free Crop Insurance Scheme is paired with the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to take the necessary steps to ensure that the farmers receive the maximum benefit.

The Chief Minister also spoke with the officials about drone use in agriculture. Choosing one college from each constituency, he said, "prepare master trainers for delivering instruction on the usage, maintenance, and repair of drones and provide training on the use of drones to the ITI or Polytechnic students."

He spoke about several other agricultural issues and instructed the authorities to make sure that every kiosk in RBK has a working internet connection and to take the required steps to guarantee that they function well. He asked the officials to chart out plans for providing more types of equipment under the YSR Yantraseva Scheme.

The officials gave the Chief Minister a briefing on the preparations for Kharif and mentioned that the state has had higher-than-average rainfall, where 16.2 percent high rainfall was recorded till August 3. 18.8 lakh hectares of the expected 36.82 lakh hectares of land under cultivation in the current Kharif season have already been cultivated.
