Ever since Uttar Pradesh's double engine government began focusing on enhancing agricultural production, young professionals have been opting to prefer organic farming with creative ideas that are making profits. A Lucknow-based organization, Vision Startups, recently gave out Progressive Startup awards to approximately 12 young people to promote and encourage young minds toward organic farming.

According to Abhyudaya Pandey of Gorakhpur, who was also amongst some of the youths that had been honored, the majority of those honored were engaged in agricultural activities. Abhyudaya, a grad student of Kolkata's Institute of Hotel Management, had worked previously in a five-star hotel in Hyderabad, but he disliked the job. Hemant, an engineering major who worked for Larsen and Toubro, was in a similar predicament in Maharajganj's Nautan.

Hemant and Abhudaya wanted to come up with new ideas in agriculture and had decided to work on them. Abhyudaya has registered a company called 'Tathagat,' and his primary goal is to expand the online sales of Siddharthnagar's Kala Namak rice and Kushinagar's turmeric. His product can be found on ODP Mart and Amazon.  He intends to establish an organic farming cluster in Kala Namak.

Hemant sells around 100 products, including tea, herbs, spices, flour, and tea, and is toward making a food supply chain of other organic products

Since each crop grows in a unique agro-climatic vicinity, the connectivity of farmers producing such agricultural products spreads across many states. Another similarity between Hemant and Abhyudaya is that they both admire the Yogi Adityanath's government in Uttar Pradesh and PM Modi's government for their emphasis on agriculture. These two young people, however, are not the individuals who are drawn to organic farming.

Fruit Festivals to Attract Youth Toward Agriculture

To entice others, particularly youth, into farming, Chief Minister Yogi has organized a golden sweet potato and strawberry festival in Jhansi and a dragon fruit festival in Gorakhpur.

It is also being anticipated that a Guava festival in Prayagraj and Amla and a Banana festival in Pratapgarh will also be held.
