The ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Jabalpur organized the “Review Workshop of Farmers’ FIRST Programme” at its campus in the presence of ZPMC experts and members.
Director and Chairman of ZPMC Dr. Anupam Mishra said that the Farmers’ FIRST Project is based on family-based approach and the policy intervention has positive outcomes. He further emphasized that project activities must play important role in enhancing farmer’s income through proper training as well as guidance in marketing aspect also.
Principal Scientist of ICAR-NIAP, New Delhi, Dr. Shiv Kumar, an invited expert of impact assessment urged for macro impact analysis of technologies based on the selected technical indicators.
Earlier, Dr. S.R.K. Singh, Principal Scientist & Member Secretary welcomed the participants and briefed the progress and activities before the ZPMC for further discussion in detail.
The ZPMC experts Dr. Y.V. Singh, Former ZPD, Jodhpur; Dr. Om Gupta, DES, JNKVV, Jabalpur; Line department representative, Shri K.S. Netam, JDA, Jabalpur Division & Er. S.K. Chourasia, Ag. Engineer, Jabalpur Division; Farmer representative, Shri Vivek Mahajan, Narsinghpur were also present during the meeting.
At present, the Farmers’ FIRST Project is operational at seven centres under the ICAR-ATARI, Jabalpur, viz., DWR, Jabalpur; IISS, Bhopal; JNKVV, Balaghat; RVSKVV, Morena; NDVSU, Jabalpur; IGKV Ragnandgaon, Chhattisgarh and NIBSM, Raipur.
The ZPMC members opined for the project-wise comments on their progress along with the modification in the Action Plan 2019-20. A total of 20 participants registered their participation during the meeting.
