Union Agricultural Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Monday inaugurated the 28th regional workshop of Krishi Vigyan Kendra. On this occasion, Union Minister said that under the successful leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government of India is working for the betterment of farmers, villages, and the Agricultural sector.
Schemes for the Rural Development
Many schemes have been started by the Centre in this direction. The development of each and every village and rural development across the country has been started with the agriculture infrastructure fund worth rupees one lakh and Aatmanirbhar Bharat fund rupees one and a half lakh.
M.P. & Chhattisgarh sets a Record in these crops Production
During the virtual address, Tomar also informed that Madhya Pradesh has registered a record in pulses, wheat, and soybean crops production, while Chhattisgarh holds a record of largest production of paddy. He mentioned that it is a matter of happiness that paddy production is being increased with the help of the KVK seed hub.
723 Krishi Vigyan Kendras
On the occasion of the virtual inauguration, Union Minister Tomar said that at present, total of 723 KVKs are being run by the units of ICAR, NGOs, and State Agriculture Universities. These KVKs are helping the farmers in every possible aspect.
Total 81 KVKs in M.P. & Chhattisgarh
There are a total of 81 Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, out of which 28 are in Chhattisgarh. Out of these 28, 7 are in Naxal-affected area. Even after facing many challenges, these KVKs are working for the betterment of farmers. For this, Union Minister Tomar congratulated and thanked all the scientists and other staff.
