As part of the continuing waiver of agricultural debts up to Rs 50,000, the Telangana government transferred Rs 275.31 crore into the accounts of 94,695 farmers on Monday. On Monday alone, a sum of Rs 63.05 crore was credited into the accounts of 20,663 farmers.
The whole loan waiver cash would be transferred into the accounts of 6.08 lakh farmers by August 30, according to Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy. Farmers valiantly continued their activity and produced food when the entire globe was hit by Covid-19, he added.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao focused on the irrigation sector and ensured that power will be available to the agriculture sector around the clock, keeping in mind the needs of the state's agricultural sector. By introducing Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bhima, the Chief Minister boosted trust among farmers, he added.
Telangana had become the nation's rice bowl in the past seven years, thanks to these pro-farmer measures. The State government's major goal is to help farmers attain financial stability, he added, encouraging farmers to focus more on producing commodities that are in higher demand in the market.
Niranjan Reddy, speaking at a different ceremony, emphasized the importance of conserving the environment since it protects everyone, and said that Haritha Haram had received national and international recognition.
The Minister stated that the green cover in the State had grown as a result of the nursery mela organised by the Horticultural Department on the PVNR Marg (Necklace Road). Telangana is a pioneer in the development of man-made forests. He went on to say that this would be the only way to produce riches for future generations.
The TRS administration eliminated agricultural loans up to Rs 25,000 as the first installment, helping 2.96 lakh farmers to the tune of Rs 408.39 crore, after promising to waive loans up to Rs one lakh during the Assembly elections in 2018. The government is waiving debts up to Rs 50,000 in the second phase, which was announced earlier this month and would help around 6.06 lakh farmers. Roughly Rs 172.86 crore has been paid into the bank accounts of about 63,074 farmers in the last five days since the introduction of the second payment of crop loan waiver.
