Tata Power Renewables, a subsidiary of Tata Power, has completed the installation of the country's largest single-axis solar tracker system at a 300 MW solar plant in Dholera, Gujarat. The project will produce 774 MUs (million units) per year. In addition, it will reduce carbon emissions by approximately 704340 MT/year (tonnes per annum). 873012 Monocrystalline PV Modules are used in the installation.
Despite the industry's various pandemic challenges, TPREL, through Tata Power's EPC arm Tata Power Solar Systems Limited, completed the project within the project timelines.
Tata Power oversaw the customised installation, which was based on geographical locations and land conditions. The total area used for the installation is 1320 acres, which is divided into six plots of 220 acres each.
Weather conditions at the construction site were unpredictable due to very heavy rains, which submerged the 33 KV cable trench in water.
The execution team, on the other hand, laid HT Cables at the location using floaters. In addition, instead of traditional underground laying, pre-cast ballasts were used to lay power cables 500 mm above ground.

With the addition of 300 MW, Tata Power's operational renewables capacity will now be 3,400 MW, with 2,468 MW of solar and 932 MW of wind. Tata Power has a total renewable capacity of 5,020 MW, which includes 1,620 MW of renewable projects in various stages of development.
