16 and August 31, 2022. The teams traveled 5787 kilometers across Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra during that time they visited soybean farms and spoke with several farmers. Below is a report on the region and crop health based on this survey.
This report's areas of focus are those chosen by the government. The report from SOPA's area estimation using satellite imagery is now being prepared and will be made public in the third week of September.
India's soybean crop is generally in average to good condition. Vegetative growth is great. Most crops are currently in the flowering and pod-forming stages. Soybean fields are mostly weed-free, and no significant insect or disease problems are present.
In various districts of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, water logging has been observed in low-lying regions as a result of severe and persistent rainfall, turning leaves yellow and possibly causing crop damage and yield loss in these places.
Yellow mosaic is not a major concern in any state.
We expect to harvest a good soybean crop this year if the weather is excellent until September, there is no abrupt and dramatic change in temperature, and there are no continuous rain showers during the pod filling stage or harvest.
