The central government’s ambitious ‘Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evem Utthan Mahabhiyan’ (PM-KUSUM) has been implemented across the nation with full swing. After Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh is going to implement the Solar Pump Yojana across the state. As per the report, a new update has been announced by the electricity distribution company regarding the KUSUM Yojana. The electricity distribution company has issued an explanation on 24th March regarding the subsidy and electricity connection.
MP Request for Solar Pump distribution
The state government of Madhya Pradesh along with the Department of New and Renewable Energy has invited application for the solar pump distribution across the state. As per the report, these solar pumps will be distributed to the eligible farmers on the subsidy amount announced by the state and central government. Recently, the power company has issued an order and guidelines in this regard.
Guidelines of Electricity Distribution Company
According to the order of the electricity distribution company, whoever takes the pump under the Solar Pump Yojana have to write a letter to the department declaring that he/she will not take electricity connection for that farm in future. Even if the farmer takes an electricity connection, he will not get the electricity subsidy issued by the power company, the company said. Apart from this, the farmer will have to certify himself that the land for which he wants a solar pump does not have an electricity connection from the past.
Moreover, it is clear from the above guidelines of the distribution company that whoever will take solar pump under the KUSUM scheme will have to give a written affidavit to prove their claim.
"We will not demand any future electricity subsidy on the agricultural land for which we are taking pumps, and even if we demand its company’s decision to give the subsidy or not.”-the farmers have to mention like this in the affidavit clearly.
However, if the farmer cuts off the connection of the pump that connected before or leaves the grant, then he can be able to avail the grant on solar pump installation.
