In order to increase farmers' income, the Central and State Government are taking several initiatives. Moreover, the government of Uttar Pradesh has been taking special initiative to eradicate water scarcity and promote solar pumps across the state.
Accordingly, under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana, Kaptanganj block of Basti district has been selected for the purpose of providing water to every farm, said the district magistrate of Basti district, Ashutosh Niranjan.
According to reports, this is the only block of the district which has been selected with more than the standard 750 mm rainfall per year of this Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana.
The fields will have free boring
Under this, the target of 385 free boring has been achieved, said the district magistrate of Kapatganj.
Out of this, 285 free boring general caste and 100 scheduled caste / tribe farmers are targeted. However, women farmers will be given preference in this. Apart from this, the target of 48 medium deep boring has also been achieved, out of which 40 will be for general and 8 for SC / ST.
Purpose of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sichai Yojana
DM Ashutosh Niranjan said that the objective of the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana is to increase the irrigation potential from ground water in blocks with more than 750 mm rainfall per year.
85 thousand rupees will be given for boring
In this scheme, boring of small marginal farmers will be made. For this, 75 thousand rupees will be given for boring and ten thousand rupees for water distribution system. For energizing tube wells of general category farmers, a maximum grant of Rs 68 thousand will be given.
Rs. 3.85 lakh grant for solar pump
5 HP solar powered pump will be installed at tube wells of scheduled caste / scheduled tribe farmers. A maximum grant of Rs. 3.85 lakh will be given for this. In this way, a total grant of Rs. 4.70 lakhs will be admissible.
How to get Solar Pump for Free?
Farmers can avail the benefits of free solar pump and get it from UP NEDA or from vendors registered on their behalf. Moreover, women farmers will be given preference in selection which will be based on first come first serve basis.
