According to media reports, Dhaliwal was speaking at a "Kisan Goshti" on the theme "Agricultural Development Model of Punjab - some policy issues" that the Punjab State Farmers and Agricultural Workers Commission put on.
The minister declared the establishment of a separate policy for natural farming, stating that the excessive use of fertilizers, chemicals, weed killers, and pesticides in agriculture is causing health issues for people.
He claimed that to introduce natural farming, it is necessary to work with the local climate. The minister added that the state government would exert every effort to support the agricultural industry with the aid of agronomists, agricultural experts, and knowledgeable people.
Satrir Singh Gosal, vice chancellor of Punjab Agricultural University, Sukhpal Singh, chairman of the Punjab State Farmers and Agricultural Workers Commission, Gurvinder Singh, director of agriculture, and representatives of the Kirti Kisan Union Ravinder Singh Patiala and Rajinder Singh Deep Singh Wala were also present on this occasion.
Dhaliwal stated that "Punjab's pure water, clean air and environment, and healthy fertile land are now turning into polluted water, toxic air, and infertile land, which needs to be replaced with clean policy and intention" as a result of previous governments' irresponsible attitude and wrong policies.
The Minister, emphasizing the importance of removing agricultural insecurity, stated that the State Government will move forward with everyone's help to save agriculture. "Use small machines instead of big machines for farming," he advised.
