Subsidy for Drip and Sprinkler Installation: India is an agrarian country where half of its population still depends on agriculture as primary occupation. Irrigation has a major role to play in Indian agriculture which is often attacked by the problem of water scarcity.
However, to enable farmers to irrigate their fields properly, the Central and State Government have implemented all the schemes. In this series, the Haryana government has implemented Micro Irrigation Scheme for the farmers of their state.
Under this scheme, 70 percent subsidy is being given to the farmer on the total expenditure for the construction of ponds in the field. With this, farmers will have to pay only 25 percent for the installation of solar pumps with capacity from 2 HP to 10 HP. This means that the farmer will get 75 percent subsidy . As per reports, the standard operating procedure has been issued for the subsidy received under its scheme.
What is Micro Irrigation Scheme?
About 48 percent of water can be saved under this scheme. With this, energy can also be saved. You should know that water is used more in the field by filling the water system and the fertilizer put in the soil goes down. Apart from this, there is nothing less than a boon for states with drought and water scarcity. Micro irrigation includes drip irrigation, micro sprinkle, localized irrigation etc.
Purpose of Micro Irrigation Scheme
This scheme is being run to overcome the shortage of water for irrigation. The official has said that under the 'Micro Irrigation Initiative', three schemes are being introduced for the farmers.
First plan
The scheme is for ancillary infrastructure STP canal / rajwaha, solar pump, farm pond and MI, Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) and canal based projects.
Second plan
The farm has ponds, ancillary infrastructure (Rajwaha), solar pumps and the installation of MI (drip / sprinkler) in the farm as well as for canal based projects.
Third plan
This scheme is for them, where the sources of water are tubewells, overflowing ponds, farm tanks and farm MI (drip / sprinkler).
Note that if farmers want to avail benefits under the first scheme, it is mandatory to give advance affidavit in the form of affidavit for adopting 100 percent MI (drip and sprinkler installation) with the farmed pond.
85 percent Subsidy
According to the Prime Minister's Agricultural Irrigation Scheme Guidelines 2018-2019, the farmer will have to pay 15 percent amount and GST for setting up MI ( drip and sprinkler ) in the field . With this, he will be given 85 percent subsidy.
