Prime Minister Narendra Modi today (2 January 2020) will release the much-awaited third installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi yojana for the months - December 2019 to March 2020 in Karnataka. PM-Kisan scheme is said to benefit more than 6 crore farmers in India.
PM Modi, who is currently on a 2-day trip to Karnataka, will officially announce the disbursement of the 3rd installment of PM-Kisan yojana while giving the Krishi Karman Awards to farmers in Tumkur.
Prime Minister will also distribute Kisan Credit Cards to the farmers from Karnataka. In addition, some fishermen from Tamil Nadu will also get the keys to advanced vessels for deep sea fishing from Modi.
Beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi yojana from different states as well as union territories will receive the awards from PM Modi.
Under the PM-Kisan yojana, farmers will get a yearly amount of Rs 6,000 in three installments of Rs 2,000 each. Modi government had launched the minimum income support scheme ahead of the Lok Sabha polls in 2019 with the aim to double farmer incomes by 2022. PM-Kisan aims to transfer Rs 75,000 crores to as many as 12 crore farmers across India in 3 years.
How farmers will get money
The money will directly reach the beneficiary's account and information about the disbursal of money will also be sent through SMS (on registered mobile number). Hence farmers must make sure they had submitted their correct mobile numbers.
