In order to provide financial assistance to the farmers in the country, the central government had launched PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana a few years back. The scheme under which, the government provides Rs. 6000 every year to the farmers was very helpful during the Covid period.
The money is directly transferred to farmers' account in three installments of Rs. 2000 each. The last installment was transferred on 31st May 2022.
As per reports, many ineligible farmers have received the money hence now the government is checking the details of such people. Once they get the details, a notice will be sent to them asking to return the money as early as possible.
Who are not eligible for PM Kisan
These people cannot take advantage of the scheme:-
-
If you are not a farmer
-
If you pay income tax
-
Both husband and wife cannot take benefits.
It has been found that many people who are paying tax are also taking benefit of PM Kisan Yojana i.e., they are registered themselves under the scheme in a fake way. The government has identified such people and has started sending notices for refund. Notices have been issued to people in many places including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar etc.
The government said that strict action can also be taken against those who do not return the money.
