PM Kisan Yojana: More Than Rs 4350 Cr Transferred To Ineligible Beneficiaries, Centre Asks States to Recover Money

The Centre has asked the state as well as UTs to recover the money transferred to ineligible beneficiaries under PM Kisan scheme as early as possible.

The Central government has informed that over Rs 4,350 crore has been transferred to ineligible beneficiaries under its most successful scheme - PM Kisan. The Centre said that it has issued an advisory to the states for getting refunds as soon as possible.

Giving more details about it, Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Agriculture Minister said that an amount of over Rs 4,352.49 crore which is 2% of the total amount distributed to all the farmers has been reported to have been transferred to ineligible beneficiaries under the scheme.

The minister further added that an advisory has been sent to all the states for recovering the money from ineligible farmers and returning the funds to the government.

Besides this, Tomar said that a facility has been launched on the official website through which any individual farmer can repay the money through the NTRP system. He also mentioned that an amount of Rs 296.67 crore has been recovered from the ineligible beneficiaries till now.

The funds in form of installments are released under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi based on the details received from the States and Union Territories, which further goes through many levels of validation including the Aadhaar authentication, told Tomar.

11th Installment to be Released in April

The government is planning to release the 11th installment under the scheme in the first week of April. Hence before that, all the beneficiaries must complete the eKYC on the official website. Those who fail to do so may not get the next installment in April.
