PM Kisan Latest Update: Reports claim that many farmers in Haryana have not yet verified their land records. It must be noted that the Haryana government had asked all the beneficiaries of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in the state to get their land record verified by concerned officials.

Out of the total 19 lakhs farmers registered under PM Kisan scheme, 3.36 lakhs have not got the land details verified.

In this regard, the local Agriculture Department offices in every district of Haryana conducted public awareness programmes and camps to disseminate government’s order.

Sources told media that many among these farmers might not be eligible for the scheme but still taking the monetary assistance. Now the government has strictly asked them not to take upcoming instalment, which could be released soon.

PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana that was launched by the Central Government in 2018 aims at providing financial support to farmers by granting them Rs 6,000 per year in three instalments (of Rs. 2000 each).

But in order to avail the benefits the farmer must not be doctor, advocate, engineer and chartered accountant (CA) or income tax payee. Also, he should not be receiving a monthly pension above Rs 10,000 per month. Those who hold constitutional positions are also not eligible for the scheme.

So far, the government has released 12 instalments of PM Kisan Yojana to farmers and the last instalment was disabused in October, according to an official from Agriculture Department. He claimed that many ineligible farmers have managed to get the financial assistance hence the government is now verifying their land record.

Not just farmers in Haryana but those from other states are also illegally taking benefit of the scheme by presenting wrong documents. Government is trying to trace such farmers so that money could be recovered from them.
