Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing a conference on Sunday (10 April 2022) said that PM Kisan Yojana and other schemes related to farming are giving new strength to crores of farmers of our nation.
Highlighting the strength of farmers, Modi said that when farmers become stronger, the country automatically prospers. In a tweet, the Prime Minister said, "The country is proud of our farmers. The stronger they are, the more prosperous the new India will be. I am happy that... PM Kisan Samman Nidhi & various other schemes related to agriculture are giving new strength to crores of farmers of the country."
PM Modi also shared information about Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and other schemes. As per the information shared, Rs 1.82 lakh crore was directly transferred into the bank accounts of around 11.3 crore farmers in India.
Rs 1,30 lakh crore was disbursed during pandemic
As many also know that under PM Kisan yojana, an annual assistance of Rs 6,000 is provided to all the farmers and during the pandemic, Rs 1,30 lakh crore was disbursed which proved very helpful to the small farmers. In addition, a loan worth Rs 8,585 crore has been sanctioned for 11,632 projects for agricultural basic infrastructure projects.
The PM also underlined that all the APMC mandis (markets) have been digitally combined in which 1.73 crore cultivators are registered and Rs 1,87 lakh crore of business took place on eNAM.
It must be noted that the National Agriculture Market (eNAM) is a pan-India electronic trading website that links the existing APMC mandis to create a unified national market for agri commodities.
