PM Kisan Update: Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (BKS), a farmer organization affiliated to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has decided to organize a nationwide protest march in Delhi on Monday (19th December). During the protest, the group will demand various relief measures to improve the condition of the farmers in the country
According to BKS Executive Committee Member Nana Akhare, farmers produce grains, vegetables, fruits and milk on a large scale, but they are not able to get the right price for their produce. Due to this many farmers are disappointed and are even committing suicide regularly. Hence BKS will be demanding government assurance for fair price of all agricultural produce. Also, it will ask for not imposing Goods and Services Tax (GST) on agricultural produce.
Besides this, the BSK leader asked the government not to approve the GM (Genetically Modified) mustard seeds.
PM Kisan Money likely to be increased
Bharatiya Kisan Sangh is also preparing a big demand regarding PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. BKS is demanding to increase the amount provided under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi by Rs 2000. The organization believes that this will help the farmers financially.
Government provides financial assistance of Rs. 6000 annually to farmers
Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, an amount of Rs. 6000 is given annually to the eligible farmers. This amount is sent to the farmers every year in three installments of Rs. 2000 at an interval of four months. Till so far, 12 installments have been sent to the farmers' account.
The scheme is said to be one of PM Modi's most beneficial scheme for farmers of the country. It has been very helpful to the annadattas during pandemic. But due to rising inflation, farmers want the government to increase the money given under the scheme.
13 Installment to be released soon
The 13th installment of PM Kisan Yojana could be sent to the farmers' account in by the end of December. However last year, the money was transferred in January.
