So far, 21,13,854 farmers have registered under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana launched by PM Narendra Modi till November 2019.
Agriculture Minister, Narendra Singh Tomar said that the Central government's scheme offers social security to all small & marginal farmers in their old age. Tomar said a minimum fixed pension of Rs 3000 will be given to the farmers on attaining the age of 60 years.
The minister added that on the death of a pensioner, the partner or spouse is entitled to get 50 percent of the assured pension as family pension. Tomar said the pension fund is managed by the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC).
What is Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana
Pm-Kisan Maandhan Yojana is voluntary & contributory pension scheme for farmers in the age group of 18 - 40 years. Under this scheme, they will get a monthly pension of Rs. 3000 on attaining the age of sixty years. For this, farmers will have to make a monthly payment of Rs.55-200, depending on their age of entry in the Pension Fund till they reach the retirement date.

How to apply for Pm-Kisan Maandhan Yojana
Farmers can get themselves enrolled in the scheme either through online self registration or through Common Service Centres (CSC) available in different states. It must be noted that the enrollment is free of cost for them.
