NABARD Dhar Inaugurates Training & Capacity Building Programme for FPOs

Integrated Socioeconomic Services will provide training. Dwarka Singh provided information about the training and stated that topics such as FPO registration, responsibilities of operating members and CEO, business expansion, and value chain will be covered in the programme.

Pankaj Jain, Collector Dhar, inaugurated the NABARD Dhar training and capacity building programme for farmer producer organisations at Hotel Rudraksh recently. Deputy Director Agriculture GS Mohania, Krishi Vigyan Kendra's DS Mandloi, Scientist Dwarka Singh, and the Managing Director of ISED, Bhopal were also present on the stage.

Integrated Socioeconomic Services will provide training. Dwarka Singh provided information about the training and stated that topics such as FPO registration, responsibilities of operating members and CEO, business expansion, and value chain will be covered in the programme.

Mohania suggested that the Farmer Producer Organization begin with small projects. He cited Amul as an example of a successful farmer producer organization and urged FPO members to do their best work by benefiting from the training.

Dr. Pankaj Jain, Collector Dhar, stated that marketing, in addition to agriculture, is very important in FPO. Farmers will earn more money through processing.

About NABARD:

NABARD was established on the endorsement of the B. Sivaramman committee on 12 July 1982 to implement the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development Act 1981. It replaced the Agricultural Credit Department and Rural Planning and Credit Cell of Reserve Bank of India and Agriculture Refinance and Development Corporation.

Functions of NABARD

  • NABARD is the most powerful institution in the country which looks after the development of cottage industry, small-scale industry and village industry, and other rural sectors.

  • NABARD also reached out to national economies and supported & promoted integrated development.

  • Serves as an apex financing agency for the institutions providing investment and production credit for promoting the various development activities in rural areas

  • Coordinates the rural financing activities of all institutions involved in expansion work at the ground level and maintains a connection with the Indian Government, state governments, Reserve Bank of India, and other national-level institutions concerned with policy formulation.
