More than 9,800 milk cooperative societies launched as part of the Andhra Pradesh-Amul project. It is aimed at increasing the milk production and marketing in the State.

Appala Raju, Minister of Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries Minister said, "As many as 9,899 milk co-operative societies will be created with ladies as a component of the Andhra Pradesh Amul project pointed toward expanding the milk creation and marketing in the State.

Joined by Rajamahendravaram MP M. Bharat, Mr. Appala Raju initiated the health camp at the district level for cows at Komaripalem town in Bikkavolu mandal situated in the East Godavari area, where he established the groundwork for setting up of Sri Lakshmi Primary Agriculture Cooperative Society.

Mr. Appala Raju commented, "Approximately rupees 3,200 capital has been reserved to give a new direction to the dairy sector in the State as a component of the Andhra Pradesh-Amul project. The disease planning of the buffaloes and cows will likewise be done to screen the cattle populace through the Secretariats. The Amul project will also ensure a profitable price for milk."
