Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on 14th May announced a Rs 2 lakh crore concessional credit boost to over 2 crore farmers through Kisan credit cards (KCC), which would also cover fishermen &animal husbandry farmers.

Eligibility for Kisan Credit Card Loan Scheme

  • Any person associated with farming, whether he is cultivating in his field or working on someone else's land, can apply for KCC.

  • The person applying for Kisan Credit Card should have a minimum age of 18 years and maximum 75 years till the end of the loan period.

  • Applicants over 60 years of age, must have a co-applicant.

Documents Required to Apply for Kisan Credit Cards

The following documents are required while applying for Kisan Credit Card: -

  • Duly filled and signed application form

  • Copy of identity proof such as Aadhaar card, PAN card, Voter ID, driving license, etc.

  • Copy of address proof document like Aadhaar card, PAN card, Voter ID, driving license. The proof must have the present address of the applicant to be valid.

  • Land Documents

  • Passport size photo of the applicant

  • Other documents requested by the issuing bank such as Security PDC.

  • Flexible repayment options and hassle free disbursement process.

  • Single loan facility / term loan for all agricultural and ancillary needs.

  • Assistance in procurement of fertilizers, seeds etc. as well as assistance in obtaining cash rebate from traders / dealers.

  • Credit is available for a period of up to 3 years and repayment can be made on completion of the harvesting season.

  • Funds can be withdrawn from any bank branch across the country.

KCC: How to Apply for Kisan Credit Card Online

Step 1 - Go to the official web site of your respective Bank.

Step 2 - Look for loans option at the home page and then search ‘Apply for KCC’

Step 3 - Now read the form and fill it carefully.

Step 4 - Click submit button

Step 5 - You will get an application reference number.

Step 6 - Save the reference number for future reference.

KCC: Insurance under Kisan Credit Card

The Kisan Credit Card also provides personal accident insurance coverage that farmers can opt for. They will get coverage of up to Rs. 50,000 in the event of death & Rs. 25,000 in the event of an accident resulting in disability.
