Amid the ongoing farmer’s protest, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered officials to issue Kisan Credit Card (KCC) to all beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) in the state by running a campaign till April 15, 2021. As per reports, farmers with smallholdings will be given preference to avail the benefit of Kisan Credit Card.
Moreover, for the first time in the state, 27 departments have been asked to coordinate towards the common goal of the welfare of farmers. However, due to Covid-19 pandemic across the states, Kisan Credit Cards couldn’t be given to the farmers even after the Agriculture Department submitted the farmers’ applications to the financial institutions.
