As the talks with the Centre remains inconclusive, Haryana farmer leaders have made it clear that they would continue with the protests until the 3 contentious farm laws are annulled and a law to guarantee Minimum Support Price for the 26 crops named by the cultivators.
Bhartiya Kisan Union has also asked the farmers of Haryana to increase their force at Delhi borders and to also change their mobile phone sim cards from Jio to other networks.
Haryana BKU president Gurnam Singh Charuni said that “All the farmer union leaders have rejected Centre’s offer for amendments in the laws and we now want government to take back these laws and also enact a law to ensure the guarantee of procurement for all 26 crops on minimum support price”.
He told that now there is no further meeting scheduled with the government and the farmers were waiting for the Centre to accept the demands raised by them in meetings.
It must be noted that Charuni is Haryana's only farmer leader among farmers who held talks with the Centre on behalf of farmers. He further stated “ All farmers as well as farmer union has decided to switch to other service providers for their sim cards and will no longer be using the Jio sim cards.”
There will be a 1-day gap in the protest as the toll passes will be opened for free on 12th December and therefore the protest will restart with more aggression from 14th December.
"We want the government to withdraw these regulations and also introduce a law that will guarantee procurement for all 26 crops at a minimum support cost" said Charuni.
In the meantime, in days to come more farmers will come to Delhi to take part in demonstrations at the borders of Singhu and Tikri. Farmers’ march to the National Capital gathered pace after it was known that the farmer leaders have discarded the government’s offer of amendments in the farm laws.
