KCC Update: Farmers can apply for a Rs 3 lakh loan under the Centre's Kisan credit card initiative. Special camps for distributing Kisan Credit Cards to farmers are being organized in the Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu from April 24 to May 1.
The camps are being held across the country as part of the Kisan Bhagidari Prathmikta Hamari campaign, which aims to enroll farmers in bank-sponsored schemes. Farmers receive the card for farming as well as agriculture-related businesses such as livestock rearing and aquaculture.
Requirements
Farmers can apply to their respective banks/primary agricultural cooperative societies for the issuing of a Kisan Credit Card by submitting copies of their pattas, Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, family cards, and voter ID.
Where to Apply?
Farmers may also apply for financing at the camps through banking correspondents/panchayat secretaries, or at the block-level agricultural offices/animal husbandry offices.
Farmers are also urged to apply for assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, or the Atal Pension Yojana.
Farmers who have not obtained institutional credit through any of the aforementioned schemes are encouraged to apply for the Kisan Credit Card and gain access to credit, according to Collector V. Jayachandra Bhanu Reddy.
Further data may also be ascertained from NABARD and the district lead bank.
According to officials in Karimnagar, all banks should create a dedicated counter to handle such applications in the next 14 days and award the farmers with Kisan credit cards.
Applicants will be able to obtain the loan through a simple process. The facility is provided not just to farmers, but also to individuals involved in agricultural-related activities.
