Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Kailash Choudhary inaugurated the Regional Conference of Cluster Based Business Organizations (CBBOs) in Jaipur, today. The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare is hosting a conference on May 6, 2022, at Birla Auditorium, Statue Circle, C Scheme, Rambagh, Jaipur, Rajasthan, as part of the 'Formation and Promotion of 10,000 FPOs' Scheme.
The conference is farmer-focused and beneficial to small and marginal farmers in terms of economic empowerment and raising awareness about new production technology, services, and marketing, as well as value addition and improved income generation for farmers.
The scheme's goal is to provide a holistic and broad-based supportive ecosystem in order to form and promote 10,000 new FPOs.
The scheme provides adequate handholding and financial support to FPOs for a period of five years. Farmers will be able to access quality inputs, technology, credit, and marketing through the Scheme due to economies of scale.
The conference will cover a wide range of topics, including expectations from CBBOs, knowledge sharing by CBBOs on best practices, training and capacity building of stakeholders, open discussion on various issues/suggestions related to the scheme's successful implementation, and so on.
The conference will feature a variety of specialists from the fields of crop husbandry, agri-marketing, value addition and processing, social mobilization, and so on.
Crop Husbandry aims to achieve a sustainable increase in agricultural production through the balanced and conjunctive use of biomass, organic and inorganic fertilizers, and controlled use of agrochemicals via INM and IPM.
Agriculture Minister Lalchand Kataria of the Government of Rajasthan, Minister of State for Agriculture Marketing Murari Lal Meena of the Government of Rajasthan, and Members of Parliament, Lok Sabha Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and Ramcharan Bohara, among others, will attend the conference.
