The Agriculture Minister, Khalid Hneifat, has announced that the 5th International Festival of Jordanian Dates will be held from 13th to 15th November. The festival is a collaborative effort between the Agriculture Ministry, the Jordanian Dates Association (JODA), and the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation (KIAAI), as reported by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The festival has garnered the support of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of the Presidential Court. With the support of key stakeholders and the active participation of farmers and producers, the festival aims to further elevate Jordan's position in the global dates market.

During a press conference, Minister Hneifat expressed his appreciation for the hard work and dedication of all the stakeholders involved in the development and growth of the Jordanian dates sector. The fifth edition of the festival will witness the participation of more than 60 farmers, manufacturers, and exporters of dates, representing five Arab countries.

One of the highlights of the festival will be a scientific seminar that will bring together over 20 researchers and academics specializing in date palms from various countries. This seminar aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise in the field.

Moreover, the event will mark the launch of the fifth edition of the Jordanian Dates Competition. This competition will provide a platform for date farmers and producers to showcase their products and compete for recognition. The winners of the competition will be honored during the festival's grand opening ceremony on 13th November.

Anwar Haddad, the President of JODA, emphasized the achievements of the festival in its previous four editions. These accomplishments include a significant 13 percent increase in cultivated areas and a notable international presence. In fact, Jordan has emerged as the 13th largest exporter of dates in terms of quantity and the ninth largest exporter in terms of value in the global market.

The upcoming 5th edition of the festival promises to be an exciting event, attracting visitors and participants from across the region. It is expected to contribute to the continued growth and success of the Jordanian dates industry, highlighting its importance as a vital sector within the country's agricultural landscape.
