Haryana has always been the first state to execute the Government’s pioneering models. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, the state has always tried to get the fullest of every policy and scheme.
In order to fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of doubling farmers’ income by 2022, Haryana has successfully implemented many schemes for the benefit of farmers. The schemes and initiatives are as follows;
Parivar Pehchan Patra
The state government has successfully documented Parivar Pehchan Patra and digitized all the farmer families, the motive of the policy is to ensure that the payment towards crop procurement directly reaches the farmers.
Meri Fasal Mera Byora
With the successful digitization of agricultural land records, and linking them with the digital identity and bank accounts of farmers, the Direct Benefit transfer has become possible. And not only this, but the digitized records also make it easy to get information about the crops planted in each season. Farmers can sell their produce in the mandis easily through the registration on Meri Fasal Mera Byora. And the overall process becomes so easy and smooth and all the details are automatically linked.
Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana
Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Harayana, Jai Prakash Dalal said, “Farmers in the Haryana have got much more as a relief than what they paid as premium under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY). An amount of Rs. 2,097.93 crore has been disbursed to the farmers in the past three years under this scheme. While premium of Rs. 1,672.03 crore was paid to the insurance companies, of this, farmers’ share was Rs. 600 crore and the rest was paid by the Central and state government.
Atal Bhujal Yojana
Atal Bhujal Yojana has been launched by the Centre with the motive of improving ground water management and conservation activities. Minister Jai Prakash Dalal says that 36 water-scarce blocks have been identified by the state for this purpose.
Overall, the productivity data for each crop can be analysed, and customised solutions can be provided to each farmer. And other facilities are also given to increase the overall productivity. This will surely help in doubling the farmers’ income in few years.
