Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar laid the groundwork for the Regional Research Centre in Kharkhari and the Animal Science Centre in Bahal on Sunday. He stated that it was a special day for the state's agriculture sector.
"Today, we have established two landmarks by replacing traditional food grain cultivation with new technology that meets the needs of the new era." "I am confident that these two regional centres will contribute to the strength of research in our agriculture and allied sectors," said the chief minister.
Speaking on the occasion, Khattar stated that the lumpy skin disease, like COVID-19, is now rapidly spreading in animals. According to him, the state government is vaccinating 20 lakh animals against the disease. The state currently has three lakh doses of the vaccine on hand, and an order for more than 17 lakh doses has been placed, he said.
The chief minister thanked the Kharkhari gramme panchayat for donating 120 acres of land for the Regional Research Centre, which will cost around Rs 39 crore to construct. He stated that the centre will be completed in two years and will conduct research on all aspects of horticulture production.
Khattar stated that this centre will provide farmers with high-quality plants and seeds. He stated that the Lala Lajpat Rai Veterinary and Animal Sciences University's Haryana Animal Science Centre, Bahal, will be built on nine acres of land at a cost of around Rs nine crore. It will be completed in two years.
According to Khattar, the main goal of establishing this centre is to provide timely diagnosis and treatment to animals suffering from various ailments. Khattar stated that the state's agriculture sector is being pushed to new heights by the BJP-led government.
According to him, horticulture crops currently account for about 7% of Haryana's total cropped area. "Our goal is to increase this to 15% by 2030." To promote horticulture, we have established 14 centres of excellence that showcase the most cutting-edge technologies in the industry. These centres have received over Rs 100 crore in investment," Khattar added.
