Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, popularly known as PM-Kisan is one of the biggest schemes launched by Modi government for the farmers. So far, the government has spent around Rs. 75000 crores under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. More than 9 crores farmers are availing the benefit of this government scheme. Under PM-Kisan scheme, every registered farmer is given Rs 6000 annually in three installments.

Additional Benefits of PM-Kisan Yojana
KCC-kisan credit card
It is important to mention that Kisan Credit Card has also been included with PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. This has been done so that the process of making KCC becomes easy and faster for the farmers. The beneficiaries of PM-Kisan can easily get Kisan Credit Card for various agricultural purposes. At present, about 7 crore farmers have Kisan Credit Card, while the government wants to include one crore more people so as to offer them loan worth Rs.3 lakh at 4%.
PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana
If a farmer is taking advantage of PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi then he will not have to provide any documents for PM Kisan Mandhan Yojana. Because the entire document of these farmers is already with the Government of India. PM Kisan Mandhan is a pension scheme for the farmers of the country. Under this scheme, farmers can choose to contribute directly from the benefits received from the PM-Kisan scheme. In this way, he will not have to spend money directly from his pocket. The premium amount will be deducted from Rs. 6000.
Plan to make Kisan card
Modi government is also preparing to create unique farmer ID for farmers based on the data of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. There is a plan to make this identity card by connecting the land records database being made by the PM Kisan and states. Once this card is made, it will be easy to pass on farming related schemes to farmers.
Faster Verification process
The government wants to benefit more and more farmers through this scheme and hence it has decided to expedite the verification process at district level.
