In order to help farmers in this Covid-19 crisis, the Andhra Pradesh government led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will disburse the first installment of YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan scheme into the accounts of farmers today, 15th May 2020. Despite facing a financial crunch & emergency situation emerging out of Coronavirus pandemic, the Reddy government will release the first installment on Friday.
As many as 49 lakh families would benefit from the YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan yojana, under which the 1st installment will be credited into the bank account of farmers before the Kharif sowing season. This is the second year in a row that cultivators will get financial aid of Rs 13,500 /annum in three phases i.e. Rs 7,500 till 15th May; Rs 4,000 in October & Rs 2,000 on Sankranti.
Andhra Pradesh has already transferred Rs 2,000 into the bank accounts of the farmers last month and the remaining Rs 5,500 would be transferred today. The Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan scheme is also applicable to the tenant farmers from the ST, SC, Backward Class and Minorities & those cultivating endowment and forest lands.
What is Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan yojana scheme
Rythu Bharosa scheme is one of the nine promises (Navaratnalu) that was made by Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy before the polls. In the year 2019-20, the State government had spent Rs 6,534 crore towards Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan scheme, by giving all the three installments to the farmers.
Benefit to the farmers
It has been estimated that around 49 lakh families will be benefitted from Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan scheme.
Farmers will get Rs 13,500 in a year in three phases i.e. Rs 7,500 till May, Rs 4,000 in October & Rs 2,000 on Sankranti
