Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana on 12th September 2019 in Ranchi, Jharkhand with a motive to secure the lives of farmers in the country and decrease death rates. So far, 21,02,426 people have registered and taking benefit of this scheme.
Under this yojana, a minimum fixed pension of Rs.3,000 per month is given to the small and marginal farmers, on attaining the age of 60 years. It is a voluntary & contributory pension scheme.
Benefits of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana
According to the Agriculture Ministry officials, there will be no fees/charges for registration under this scheme. If a farmer is already availing the benefit of PM-Kisan yojana then no separate documents will be required.
Moreover, under this scheme, farmers can choose to contribute directly from the benefits received from PM-Kisan. In this way, they will not have to spend any extra money from their pocket. It must be noted that farmers in between 18 to 40 years can register for Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana.

How much contribution is needed?
Farmers will have to make a monthly contribution of Rs.55 to Rs.200 - depending on their age of entry.

How to apply for Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana
A farmer can do self-registration online or through Common Service Centres (CSC) present in different States. The enrollment process is free for all the applicants. But, Rs.30/- will be charged as enrolment process fees at the CSC which is borne by the Government itself.

Go to your nearest Common Service Centre along with the required documents

Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE) at the CSC will get the online registration done will help of your documents.

The application form along with the copies of important documents will be sent for further processing

After completion of the registration process, an auto-debit mandate form would be generated by the bank of the beneficiary that is duly signed declaring the consent of farmer for auto-debit of contributions every month.
Voluntary exit
The farmer can make voluntary exits from the Pension Fund after completion of at least five years of regular contributions.
