Farmers Can Earn Rs.36000 Yearly through PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana; Check Method to Apply

So far, 19, 60,152 farmers have registered under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana, a pension scheme launched by the Centre. Under this pension scheme, government had decided to add 5 crore farmers with cultivable land up to 2 hectares in the first phase.

Lakhs of farmers have already registered/applied for Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana, a pension scheme launched by the Central government.  Under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana, after the completion of 60 years of age, farmers will get pension of Rs.3000 per month i.e. Rs.36,000 yearly.

It is a very beneficial scheme for farmers as it will help them financially in their old age. Registration process is going on hence those who haven't registered can do so to avail the benefits of this government scheme. 

Benefits of PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana

According to Ministry of Agriculture officials, there will be no registration fees for the PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana. If a farmer takes advantage of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, no further documentation are required.

Farmers might choose to donate directly from the rewards received under the PM-Kisan scheme under this arrangement. They won't have to spend money out of their own pockets this way. It must be noted that farmers in between 18 to 40 years can register for Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana.

How much contribution farmers have to make?

Farmers need to contribute Rs.55 to Rs.200 each month, depending on their age at the time of admission.

What to do if anyone wants to leave the scheme in between?

A farmer's money will not be lost if he chooses to leave PM-KMY in the middle. The money that has been deposited until his departure will earn interest at the same rate as a bank savings account. If the farmer dies, his wife will be entitled to half of the funds. Farmers' pension funds will be managed by the Life Insurance Corporation of India.

How much money has to be paid?

Farmers will pay a premium, and the government will also give equal money. It has a minimum premium of Rs.55 and a maximum premium of Rs.200. If someone decides to cancel the policy in the middle, the farmer will receive the deposit plus interest. If the farmer dies, his wife will be entitled to Rs.1500 per month.

  • Self-registration online or at Common Service Centers across the country are both options for PM-KMY enrolment and it is completely free.

  • Farmers must contact their nearest Common Service Center with their Aadhaar card and bank passbook/account data in order to enroll via Common Service Center. The government would cover the cost of enrolment at the Common Service Centres, which will be Rs.30/-.

  • After collecting information such as name, date of birth, spouse/nominee, Aadhaar number, and cellphone number, the Village Level Entrepreneur or VLE at the CSC will complete the on-line registration procedure.
