The Central Government has launched the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, popularly known as PM Kisan scheme for the economically weaker farmers in the country. To take the benefit of PM-Kisan scheme, as many as 9 crore farmers have registered themselves, while the government aims to connect 14.5 crore farmers in the country. Under this scheme, every year Rs. 6000 is being deposited in the bank accounts of every small and marginal farmer by the Central government. This amount is being deposited in three equal instalments of Rs. 2000 each.
As per the rules and norms set by the government, there are many farmers who are not eligible for this government scheme. In such a situation, it is very important to know all the conditions before applying to take benefit of PM-Kisan scheme, because giving wrong information can lead to severe action along with penalty.
According to the official website of PM Kisan scheme, if a farmer takes advantage of this scheme by giving wrong information and is caught later then the amount transferred to his bank account will be withdrawn immediately. After this, he will also face legal action on the charges of fraud.
Farmers not eligible for PM-Kisan scheme
1. All Institutional Land holders
2. Farmer families in which one or more of its members belong to the following categories
- Former & present holders of constitutional posts
- Former & present Ministers/ State Ministers & former/present Members of LokSabha/ RajyaSabha/ State Legislative Assemblies/ former & present Chairpersons of District Panchayats.
- All serving / retired officers & employees of Central/ State Government Ministries /Offices/Departments
- All superannuated/retired pensioners whose monthly pension is Rs.10,000/-or more
- All Persons who paid Income Tax in last assessment year
- Professionals like Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, Chartered Accountants & Architects registered with Professional bodies.
- Officers in the Central / State Government & farmers receiving more than Rs. 10000 pension will remain outside the purview.
3. Doctors, engineers, lawyers who are doing farming anywhere will not get any benefit.
4. Farmers paying income tax will also not get advantage of the scheme.
