Crores of rupees have been spent in the struggle of the farmers who are demonstrating on the borders since last one month. Lakhs of farmers, their family members have been protesting at different borders of Delhi including Singhu, Tikri, Ghazipur.
And, if the average expenditure on fuel for the movement of each tractor and vehicles coming from different parts of Punjab, Haryana is taken as Rs. 10,000, then, the amount will be more than 500 crores.
And if we include ration and other necessary expenses of farmers, then its figure is also in crores. Farmers have been demanding a repeal of agricultural laws on Delhi’s borders for more than a month. Due to severe cold, the cost of preparing tractor trolleys and other items including warm clothes is also being spent.
If the situation will remain like this, farmers are prepared to spend at least six months on the borders of Delhi. Despite the crores of expenses incurred by the agitating farmers on all the borders of Delhi, they are ready for further struggle.
Government is ready to consider the clause which is objectionable. But, farmer leaders are saying that they don’t want amendment, they just want the cancellation of three farm laws. And they also said, “we will go back only after repealing the law, not the amendment.
On the other side, the government is also static on their stand that there is no chance to withdraw the new farm laws. And reiterated the prior proposal that, government will provide the written guarantee on the MSP.
In Wednesday’s meeting, 50% agreement has been reached between the farmers and the government. But if the results of the farmers’ organizations and government’s next meeting, to be held in the next year, January 4 2021, will not be positive, then the expenditure will further increase.
Still, there are some chances of the positive outcome by Wednesday’s meeting. But, farmers are still demonstrating peacefully.
