According to the Khaama Press, Taliban-led officials stated that flash floods inflicted significant financial and human losses to the local people. At least four children were murdered, 25 were injured, and around 300 residential homes were severely destroyed as a result of flash floods.
According to the news, flash floods have devastated thousands of acres of agricultural land in the districts of Kaama, Lalpur, Goshta, and Koz Kunar, as well as other areas of Nangarhar province. Local locals have uploaded photos on social media showing the devastation caused by heavy rains and flooding in various sections of the province.
Locals have requested humanitarian organisations to assist flood-affected households. Meanwhile, according to Khaaama Press, torrential rains and high winds devastated gardens and fruit trees in northern Balkh, Samangan, Takhar, Kunduz, and Baghlan provinces.
Afghanistan's meteorological authority has forecast further rain and flooding in 18 provinces in the coming days.
